Aerosol therapy continues to be a preferred method for testing and treating a growing number of respiratory conditions. The UltraNeb, the new high output ultrasonic nebuliser from DeVilbiss continues in the tradition of the “gold standard” NEB 99 and NEB 2000 models as a high performance large volume ultrasonic nebuliser suitable for humidification, sputum induction and aerosol therapy. Its simple to use functions make it ideally suited for use both in the hospital setting or in the home.
The UltraNeb has the capability of producing an infinite number of output volumes with a minimum of 3.0 ml of aerosol per minute at the maximum output setting. Production of varying volumes of high density homogeneous particles makes the DeVilbiss UltraNeb particularly useful in the moisturising of dry gases associated with intermittent positive procedures, periodic aerosol treatment and mist-tent therapy. In addition to the familiar functions of controlling the aerosol output and the air the UltraNeb now includes new features such as a medication timer, a heated tube option that heats the mist to 37° C to give the patient greater comfort and increasing patient compliance. The UltraNeb also boasts a sophisticated safety alarm system that protects it from misuse.
